Emily Gluch
Marketing & Events Manager
Far West Agribusiness Associaiton hired me in April of 2022, When I was recovering from foot surgery. At first, I wanted to move back to my hometown and reached out to local businesses for any local job listings, which organically turned into joining Far West.
At the time, I was working two jobs and going to school full-time at Eastern Oregon University where I obtained a bachelor's Degree in Rangeland Animal Relations with a minor in Global Agribusiness Marketing. At EOU, Oregon State University partners with the school to provide an Agricultural Sciences co-operative partnership program where I served as an Ambassador and competed in collegiate Trapshooting.
Being born and raised in Weiser, Idaho I have an extensive background in Agricultural systems and an understanding of livestock systems. I grew up in a ranching family who homesteaded the Owhyee desert and western Idaho areas, as I am the 4th generation of Irish and German cattlemen. At the age of 14, my first job started in a local butcher shop where I learned how to scrub gut buckets and operate a knife. Throughout college, I continued working in butcher shops and met a variety of producers in Idaho and eastern Oregon. During the summers, I was a wildland firefighter, worked on harvest crews, and trained horses.
Although I have always had a labor-intensive job, I am thrilled to be the Marketing and Events Coordinator for Far West. Today's Agriculture industries are rapidly changing and I am lucky to be a part of an organization that works to protect agriculture and our company's interests.
In the last 8 years, my greatest accomplishment is being an NCAA Collegiate Women's basketball official. Since I was in High school, I have officiated basketball, which has now turned into more than a side hustle! Above all, officiating is not just about basketball but about professional development, growth, conflict mitigation, and becoming the best version of yourself. Thankfully, I manage to have a full-time job and officiate basketball, I couldn't be happier.
My future goals consist of paying off student loans ( I am one of those crazy Dave Ramsey people), buying a nice horse, and maybe one day a house, ya know... just trying to figure out life in my twenties.
