In response to state attempts to hijack FIFRA labeling and registration requirements, South Dakota Representative Dusty Johnson has introduced H.R. 4288, the Agricultural Labeling Uniformity Act.

House Agriculture chairman Glenn Thompson announced that he believes the lifespan of the 2018 Farm bill will have to be extend temporarily because Congress will miss the September 30 deadline for reauthorization.
The impacts of dam removal would have significant impacts on twelve Northwest counties in Washington, Idaho and Oregon. The report estimates that 7644 farms in these counties would have serious impacts. These farms currently generate $2 billion in annual sales.
Governor Brad Little held a statewide water summit on August 10. Governor Little, Lt. Governor Scott Bedke, and Water Resource Board Chairman Jeff Raybould gave the audience a strategic look into the status of the state’s precious water resources during the Governor’ Summit.
